Art Evans has sadly passed away.
The Hollywood star, who appeared on our screens as Barnes in Die Hard 2 and as Detective Lennox in Fright Night, died at 82 years old on Saturday, according to publicist Erica Huntzinger via Variety. His wife Babe Evans confirmed the news in a tear-jerking statement to Deadline:
“Art was not only an incredible actor but a devoted husband, friend, and source of light to everyone who knew him. His laughter, passion, and love of life will be deeply missed. While our hearts are heavy, we celebrate the legacy of joy and inspiration he leaves behind.”
So, so sad.
A rep later told the same outlet the Ruthless People actor died after a battle with diabetes — “a condition he courageously managed for many years.”
According to Variety, his obituary notes he “passed away peacefully” while “surrounded by family.”
Art’s Hollywood career spanned more than 50 years. Our hearts are with his loved ones during this difficult time. Rest in peace.
