Disney Channel Star Catches A Huge Break, Cops Plea Deal In Attempted Murder Case

Devan Leos attempted murder charge

Former Disney Channel actor Devan Leos caught a huge break in court this week, taking a plea deal that avoids prison time completely over an attempted murder beef.

The 21-year-old actor, who famously played Alan Diaz for more than 40 episodes on Disney XD‘s Mighty Med from 2013 to 2015, had been under the gun on accusations he used his car to run down a homeless person after a dispute last year. But now, with the plea deal, it looks like he’s ready to put this behind him… on some very favorable terms.

The former chid actor pled no contest to one count of attempted murder back in April over an incident that occurred in December 2018. Law enforcement sources reported that at the time, Devan and a friend were at a 7-Eleven in El Lay when they got into an argument with a transient.

One thing led to another, and while Devan and his friend were getting into their car, the transient kicked it. Instead of pulling away and letting things go, though, Leos allegedly drove towards the person, accelerated several times, and hopped the curb, eventually striking and knocking down the victim with his car. WTF?!

Well, things wound through the court system this year after his plea deal back in April, and now we know the outcome: Leos will be sentenced to five years probation, and he must also complete 120 hours of volunteer work at a homeless shelter along with 30 days of work out on the highways with CalTrans. Apparently, with that plea, the one count of assault with a deadly weapon was tossed off the record for good.

So basically it sounds like Leos is due for a couple months of volunteer work to pay off his debt to society. Considering he was facing attempted murder charges at one point… yeah, we’d say this is a pretty favorable way for him to get off and work down through lesser charges, isn’t it?! Still, it’s been a while since he’s done any TV work in Hollywood, so this may be about it for his career. He picked a hell of a (bad) way to go out, at least…

What do U think, Perezcious readers?! For a case like this, with attempted murder on the table, is probation getting off too easy?? Should he have done some jail time?! Sound OFF with your opinions about everything here in the comments (below)…
