Donald Trump has taken to his favorite medium — Twitter, naturally — to defend the teenagers who came under fire while wearing his MAGA hats at a Washington D.C. rally this past weekend.
As you’ll recall from our reporting on it, a group of students from Covington Catholic High School in Kentucky was in D.C. when an incident occurred between them and a group from the Indigenous Peoples March.

Now, days later, Trump has weighed in on Nick Sandmann — the main teen seen front-and-center smiling in his MAGA hat in all the videos — and the rest of the incident, tweeting about it Monday night:
Looking like Nick Sandman & Covington Catholic students were treated unfairly with early judgements proving out to be false – smeared by media. Not good, but making big comeback! “New footage shows that media was wrong about teen’s encounter with Native American” @TuckerCarlson

Trump came back to the issue again this morning, too — only this time he spelled the kid’s name right, at least:
Nick Sandmann and the students of Covington have become symbols of Fake News and how evil it can be. They have captivated the attention of the world, and I know they will use it for the good – maybe even to bring people together. It started off unpleasant, but can end in a dream!

You can always tell when Trump is watching TV because he’s always tweeting at the same time… and man, he sure tweets a lot!
