UPDATE 3:21 P.M. EST: President Trump on Wednesday signed the executive order to “keep families together” at the border, partially reversing his new policy. He warned that “zero tolerance” prosecution will continue for people who enter the country illegally.

After weeks of public outcry about immigrant children being separated from their families and put into detainment facilities, Donald Trump is set to issue an executive order on Wednesday that ends the separation of families at the border!
The White House’s solution? Instead of being separated, immigrant parents and their children will now be indefinitely detained TOGETHER.

According to a source familiar with the plans, officials at the Department of Homeland Security are preparing the order for signing. It would seek to circumvent an existing 1977 consent decree that prohibits the federal government from keeping children in immigration detention for over 20 days.
So, there will no longer be children in cages. Now, they’ll be in jail cells alongside their parents. Progress?
