Donald Trump sure knows how to treat his supporters.
SIKE!!!
The former president-turned-current presidential candidate held a rally in California’s Coachella Valley desert in the Palm Springs area this past weekend. It’s been unseasonably hot in that part of the country despite being mid-October, so temperatures on the day of the rally reached north of 100 degrees on the desert floor. And yet thousands of people still showed up to hear him speak, and joke, and yell, and scream, and rant, and rave! Oooookay…
That’s not the story here, though. The story is that after the rally, when Trump got on his plane and got the hell outta Dodge (er, uh, the hell outta Coachella), his supporters apparently weren’t offered the same luxury! According to a jaw-dropping new report published by Newsweek, thousands of Trump supporters were stranded in the desert at the end of the rally with no buses in sight to take them the MILES they had to go to get back to their parked cars!!

Per that outlet, buses were provided to supporters prior to the event — which was held a few miles outside of Coachella on private land, apparently — so they could ride out to the scene of the rally. But when the rally ended, per both Newsweek and the Times of San Diego, poorly organized transportation meant VERY few buses were around to take Trump fans back to their cars!
In one video posted on social media, a bus driver appears to shout at attendees that his was the last bus, with a passenger on board also screaming “no more buses, they just got notice.” Other reports flying in on social media and compiled by those outlets claimed that Trump himself was the one who stiffed the bus compan(ies) and led to people getting stranded in the desert after dark. And still more reports online seemed to blame the Coachella mayor for the issue of buses not being at the event — again, despite it apparently being held on public property. Huh?!
What is undeniable is that several videos started popping up showing people walking through the pitch-black desert in the dark after the rally ended. Newsweek reports the claims of several attendees who were told that rally organizers had promised them transportation to and from the car park area several miles away from the rally both before and after Trump spoke. However, as the event ended, it soon became clear that there weren’t enough buses to transport everyone. So, people were forced to walk. And many of those people, as X (Twitter) users were quick to note, were very elderly and/or had health issues.
You can see the chaos unfold (below). Several Twitter users echo claims that it was Trump himself who supposedly stiffed the bus companies involved in the transportation logistics. Others allege that “all buses have been called off” during the aftermath of the rally with the California Highway Patrol supposedly being involved. Even Trump’s own niece, Mary L. Trump, claimed that the Apprentice star himself was the one who didn’t pay the bus company:
Trump didn't pay the bill for the buses to return? Shocker. #Coachella #CoachellaRally pic.twitter.com/4GFwEvUrJY

Trump didn’t pay the bus people in advance as agreed.
The busses brought them in.
He got his photo op.
He got on his plane.
Then he left his dopes to die. That’s his plan for America.

In a shock to absolutely no one, Donald Trump left his supporters stranded after his “rally” because he didn’t bother to pay the bus company.
Yes, he really is that cheap and selfish.pic.twitter.com/rJkNQWfD15

People were stranded at the #Trump rally waiting for shuttle buses to get to their cars 5 miles away in #Coachella. Then it got pitch dark in the desert. #CoachellaTrumpRally pic.twitter.com/uHlXNbFTF8

So Trump has all these people bused in to his Coachella rally, and then he just leaves them there – stranded, in the middle of the freaking desert, in the middle of the freaking night. He doesn't care about them; he doesn't care about you. pic.twitter.com/WGIwY5xa4i

FWIW, Newsweek says they contacted the CHP, Coachella’s mayor, and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office late on Monday night to get clarification here. Hours later, the RCSO sent them an email back denying jurisdiction in running the event and the shuttle buses:
“Regarding the logistics of the event, which include the shuttle buses, we will defer those questions to the campaign team as our department was not in charge of that aspect of the event.”
Now, the rally is under scrutiny for its apparently awful logistics. This isn’t the first time Trump has left attendees high and dry, either! Back in 2020, thousands of Trump lovers at an event in Omaha, Nebraska were left stranded in the cold for hours after a rally when buses failed to come pick them up as expected. Heck, earlier this month in Aurora, Colorado, a similar situation was reported following a Trump event:
Are these the illegal Immigrants they keep talking about?
Nope LMAO….just your regular MAGA morons that had to walk to Trump rally in Aurora, CO from the parking lot because buses didn’t come pic.twitter.com/01s6HG8kir
