The actress who played Elly May Clampett on the classic TV series The Beverly Hillbillies is suing, Mattel that is.
In her lawsuit, Donna Douglas claims the doll maker is “engaging in the unauthorized use of (her) name, likeness, image and attributes” by selling an Elly May Barbie and is demanding a jury trial.
Thee 77 year old is seeking $75,000+ in damages, but according to Mattel they did their due diligence and got the licensed rights to Beverly Hillbillies “through the appropriate channels”.
