For some reason we don’t think that if President Obama DOES decide to forgive you that he’ll be “happy” to do it.
Doug Lamborn (R-Co.) made some really offensive comments about the President while on the radio last week:
├óΓé¼┼ôEven if some people say, ├óΓé¼╦£Well the Republicans should have done this or they should have done that,├óΓé¼Γäó they will hold the President responsible. Now, I don├óΓé¼Γäót even want to have to be associated with him. It├óΓé¼Γäós like touching a tar baby and you get it, you├óΓé¼Γäóre stuck, and you├óΓé¼Γäóre a part of the problem now and you can├óΓé¼Γäót get away.”
It’s actually shocking to hear that term used so freely.
Yet, in his apology letter he was “apologizing for using a term some find insensitive.├óΓé¼┬¥
Some? Try most. He was also just:
├óΓé¼┼ôattempting to tell a radio audience last week that the president’s policies have created an economic quagmire for the nation and are responsible for the dismal economic conditions our country faces. He regrets that he chose the phrase ‘tar baby,’ rather than the word ‘quagmire.’ The congressman is confident that the president will accept his heartfelt apology.”
├óΓé¼┼ôI absolutely intended no offense, and if this is at all on his radar screen, I am sure that he will not take offense and he’ll be happy to accept my apology because he is a man of character.├óΓé¼┬¥
We’re not quite sure how you can go from “never wanting to be associated with him” to calling him a “man of character.” Unless you did actually mean that you didn’t want to be associated with him, and you only want to be associated with those men and women who don’t have character instead.
Just sayin’.
Oh, and it’s less about the apology and more the fact that we shouldn’t have people in office that make those kinds of statements in the first place.
Nice try, though!
