The Ghost Of Hologram Tupac Is Going On Tour!

We’re predicting that this is the start of something BIG!
If U loved watching hologram Tupac Shakur perform live at Coachella this past Sunday, then you’ll be pleased to hear that Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre are considering going on tour with their old friend’s digital likeness.
Despite dying over 15 years ago, the crowd’s reaction and subsequent internet buzz proved that fans are still polarized by the iconic rapper’s presence. Although we think concert goers will line up for the proposed show, the tour will be no easy feat for Digital Domain Media Group Inc. — the company that created the hologram.
Ed Ulbrich, the chief creative officer for the visual effects house, explained:

“This is not found footage. This is not archival footage. This is an illusion.”

Although it will certainly be a challenge to create a Tupac who can seemlessly entertain fans for hours, Ulbrich says, “This is just the beginning. Dre has a massive vision for this.”
Not to mention, the possibilities of creating digital versions of other deceased musicians, celebrities, and cultural icons are endless! Can U Imagine watching John Lennon perform again? How about Elvis or Johnny Cash? Queen can finally have a frontman again! Ghandi can inspire a new generation and Michael Jackson can tour for eternity.
We have an undeniable gut feeling that Tupac’s Coachella performance (above) was just a GLIMPSE of what we’ll be seeing in the future.
