This is one crazy story…
NFL star Earl Thomas is lucky to have escaped with his life after his wife allegedly drew and held a loaded gun less than a foot from his head during an altercation back in April. The incident, which allegedly involved Thomas cheating on his wife, Nina, with “other women,” is only now being revealed in greater detail in some shocking court documents. Honestly, we’re just glad nobody was seriously hurt…

It all started back on April 13, according to the docs first obtained by TMZ, when police in Austin, Texas responded to a call about a disturbance at a home in the city just before 4:00 a.m. local time. In their report logs and later court papers, cops detailed what appeared to be a basic domestic disturbance between two parties, writing (below):
“We observed that a black female wearing an orange sweater with a knife in her hand, later identified as Nina Thomas, was chasing a shirtless black male, later identified as Earl Thomas, with a pistol in his hand around a vehicle.”
Police pulled out their weapons and ordered both Nina and Earl to the ground, and each complied without incident. Little did law enforcement know at the time, though, that was just the tip of the iceberg on what ended up turning into a WILD story…
Nina’s Story
According to the football star’s wife, Nina, the 30-year-old pro athlete left the couple’s house that day after the pair got into an argument over how much he had been drinking. Per the court docs, she claimed Earl’s brother Seth Thomas picked him up and drove him off, thereby allowing cooler heads to prevail.
Well, a few hours later, Nina was curious about where her husband had gone, and so she checked his whereabouts via his Snapchat account. At that point, according to the docs, she found a video of Earl with another woman… and things went downhill extremely quickly from there.

Using Snapchat to trace his location, Nina quickly found him to be at a nearby Airbnb rental home. She then called up two friends to help her confront the athlete, also grabbing the football player’s 9mm Beretta pistol with, what she claims, was the intention to “scare him” upon confronting her husband with another woman. Well, when the women all showed up at the rental house, they “discovered Earl and Seth naked in bed with other women.”
ALL HELL broke loose from there, as… wait, can we backtrack a second? Earl and Seth — brothers — were naked in bed together with other women?! The two were having a brotherly orgy of some kind?? What the f**k?!?! Not to get too far down into the mechanics of an orgy, but is that something you do with your sibling?! So many questions!!!!!
Anyway, Nina wasn’t having it at that point and s**t started to get very serious as she allegedly pulled out the gun and pointed it at Earl’s head. In her statement’s own words, she apparently tries to walk back the action by noting she took out the clip itself, but cops refute that point in their report (below):
“[Nina] discovered Earl and Seth naked in bed with other women. [She took out the gun and pointed it at Earl’s head,] but stated that she took out the magazine thinking that the gun could not fire. She was unaware that the gun had a round in the chamber.”
Police go even further, saying one of the women in the house shot a cell phone video of the entire incident. The report even claims the video is pretty clear in its contents:
“The video [shows Nina] from less than a foot away and it can clearly be seen that Nina’s finger was on the trigger and the safety is disengaged.”
Wow. Talk about a close call…
The Baltimore Ravens defensive back was able to quickly wrestle the gun away from his wife, and the situation de-escalated (well, only a little bit). The video ends as Nina can allegedly be seen striking Earl in the face.

Cops interviewed one of Earl’s alleged mistresses at the scene, too, and she apparently corroborated much of the story. In one incredible moment that shouldn’t be funny but absolutely is, the alleged mistress claimed Nina first charged into the house reportedly threatening her and the other women inside while pointing the gun at them and yelling:
“I got something for all you hoes!”
Unreal…
Eventually, Mrs. Thomas and the two women she’d brought with her for support were arrested and charged with burglary of a residence with the intent to commit aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and family violence. They later bonded out. Earl was not arrested, though he apparently did file an emergency protective order requiring Nina to stay 200 yards away from both him and his alleged mistress.
Nina’s attorney, Jonathan Goins, released a statement about the incident which strongly argued for Nina’s innocence, and the eventual clearing of her name:
“I am here to declare that my client unequivocally and categorically denies these allegations and we look forward to our day in court where we can clear her good name.”
That ought to be a wild day in the courtroom one way or another… especially as the former couple shares three kids together.
Earl’s Story
The longtime football star released a statement on social media about the now nearly month-old incident, saying in part in his since-deleted video (below):
“Instead of talking about us, just keep us in y’all prayers. Stuff like this happens. We try to live the best lives we possibly can. Sometimes it doesn’t go as planned.”
“Doesn’t go as planned” is the understatement of the year. Man, what a way to celebrate the poor guy’s birthday, ya know? Say, since it really is Earl’s birthday, we can’t be the only ones who are wondering about this: what gift did Seth get him for the big day?! LOLz!!!!
