Video: Ed Performs A Beautiful Cover Of The Breakup Classic Ain’t No Sunshine!
On Monday, Ed received a honorary doctorate degree from England’s University of Suffolk for his “outstanding contribution to music”.
Wow, what an honor! We can’t believe Sheeran is a “doctor” now!
Apparently the high school dropout couldn’t believe the amazing honor himself, because shortly after the ceremony he tweeted:
I wasn’t joking, I am actually a doctor now, that’s how mad this world is

Aw — it’s obvious the singer is absolutely floored by the distinction. We bet the recognition is even more special considering E.S. grew up in Framingham, a town in very close proximity to the university!
When asked about the special moment, the 24-year-old gushed:
“Suffolk is very much where I call home. Receiving this recognition is a real privilege. I’ve had an amazing year…and this makes it even better.”
So sweet.
