Ed Sheeran is off the market — and as it turns out, he has been for a long time!
The 28-year-old has, of course, been with longtime love Cherry Seaborn for years now, but the public only learned he was **technically** off the market this week, thanks to a big reveal about his “wife” on his new album, No. 6 Collaborations Project.

In the song Remember the Name, which dropped on Friday as part of the new album, and features both Eminem and 50 Cent, Sheeran officially reveals for the first time he and Seaborn ARE married, singing (below):
“Watch how the lyrics in this song might get twisted/My wife wears red but looks better without the lipstick.”
Awww! That’s one way to acknowledge your marriage publicly for the very first time!!
Especially considering he was rumored to have tied the knot with his then-fiancé back in February!
The Brit didn’t stop there, either, and he chose to open up about the lyric — and his marriage — to Charlamagne Tha God during an interview to promote the new record.
Ed revealed (below):
“It was actually before me and Cherry got married, and I knew that we’d be married by the point that the song came out. So I said, ‘Watch how the lyrics in this song might get twisted/My wife wears red but looks better without the lipstick,’ And I was like ’cause someone’s going to hear that and be like ‘Oh they’re married,’ and I didn’t know how that would be. But, obviously, it’s already come out.”
And he went on from there, too, revealing more about his life with his love — and how thankful he is that she’s stayed with him throughout his hectic lifestyle and music career:
“I constantly wake up every day with Cherry and I’m just like, ‘Why the f**k are you with me? You could literally be with whoever you wanted, and you’ve chosen me. And I’m saying all of the things that I think are wrong with me, but you still want to be with me.’ And I just find that amazing … It’s quite sweet to always think that the person that you’re with is out of your league. I tour a lot. I spend a lot of time on the road. And I have to go on the road and have this belief that, you know, this is meant to be.”
Awww!!! Very cute… in a very self-deprecating way!
These two have obviously been together for quite a while — and we’ve assumed marriage was a thing, even if they never announced it — but beyond the “official” status between ’em, it’s great to see the love here is real!
The 28-year-old even added in his interview how Cherry brought together the idea of his collab with Justin Bieber for the song I Don’t Care. He explained:
“Bieber just got married. I’d just got married. That song is about being at an industry event with the woman you love, or the person you love, and kind of being like, ‘F**k this, let’s just have fun ourselves.’ It was actually Cherry’s idea, because she was like, ‘Oh, why don’t you get Bieber? Like, he’d be perfect for this. [He] just fits it.'”
A perfect match!
