Ed Sheeran Quits Twitter -- And Lady GaGa's Fans Have Something To Do With It!

Uh oh…is a new feud starting up??
Ed Sheeran revealed in a new interview this week that he is so O-V-E-R Twitter. And it sounds like the nasty trolls who pop up on the social media platform are to blame.

While his account is still active, the singer revealed that he isn’t involved in it anymore:

“I’ve actually come off Twitter completely. I can’t read it. I go on it and there’s nothing but people saying mean things. One comment ruins your day. The headfuck for me has been trying to work out why people dislike me so much.”

Who could dislike Ed, you ask?
Well, it seems that some of the drama might stem from a previous interview the 26-year-old gave to Beats Radio 1. While he never named Lady GaGa in that previous interview, her fans certainly interpreted a comment he made as shade against the Poker Face singer as he stated:

“I do not want to be the kind of artist who has had two successful albums and then feels invincible. I have to know when to listen to people, or I’ll end up like those artists you’ve interviewed in recent years. You’ve seen them become the biggest artists in the world, and then suddenly they will say, ‘I know everything!’ And just after, they are no longer at the top. The smartest thing to do is listen to people who know I do not want to do the Super Bowl years later, after my biggest success, just to prove I’m still relevant.”

Oooh, well, it is a statement that sure appears to be in line with the path GaGa’s career has taken considering she did JUST perform at the Super Bowl this year. But in his new interview, Ed clarified:

“Lady Gaga’s fanbase read an interview in which they assumed I was talking about her and they all fucking hate. And it wasn’t anything to do with that at all. So, I think Twitter gets on a massive steam roll of assuming things and then you get in the shit.”

Whether or not the quotes were about GaGa, we do agree that there’s no need for the hate from her fans.
Maybe with this new info from Ed, the fans will back off and let him decide if he wants to come back or not. Although, it doesn’t sound too promising:

“I have people like my dad who will have a conversation with me. I don’t have to have someone calling me a whatever.”

Awww, we promise not to hate if you come back!
Unless you go after someone like queen Celine Dion! LOLz, just kidding. No hate here!
