Edward Furlong is going back to prison!
The Terminator 2 star had his own Judgment Day on Tuesday when he was sentenced to six months for violating his probation.
But according to attorney Brian Michaels, Edward actually had the chance to get his sentence drastically reduced! Mr. Michaels says:
“Mr. Furlong had the opportunity to avoid Jail in a deal my office worked out which would have resolved not just this case but two other criminal cases in Beverly Hills, by checking himself into a drug rehabilitation program, a very unusual disposition in a case that alleged violence.”
So why didn’t he take it?? We mean, who in their right mind wouldn’t see that… oh, right. Mr. Michaels says:
“Sadly, Mr. Furlong rejected all proposals to get into drug rehabilitation, and the Court, ultimately decided that it was forced to sentence to him a hefty amount of jail time.
We are hopeful that Mr. Furlong uses this experience, unpleasant as it may be, to revisit the issue of Rehab when he is released.”
We sure hope so! Instead of just putting the issue on hold for months at a time incarcerated, Edward could actually work to solve the root of the problem!
We’ll just have to wait and see if the former child star wises up or continues to add to recidivism rates.
