Elisabeth Hasselbeck SLAMS Rosie O'Donnell Over Her 'Disturbing' Crush Admission & Stereotyping Female Athletes As Gay

Elisabeth Hasselbeck is praying for Rosie O’Donnell.
During an appearance on Fox & Friends Tuesday, the conservative TV personality slammed the comments her former cohost made about her in the upcoming book, Ladies Who Punch: The Explosive Inside Story of The View.
As we reported, O’Donnell confessed in her memoir to having “a little bit of a crush” on Hasselbeck during their time on The View and claimed there were “underlying lesbian tones on both parts.” The remarks were shocking, honest, and shed new light on that infamous 2007 blowout fight the two had on air.
For the Survivor alum, they stirred up a pot of complicated emotions: mostly disgust and pity for the godless comedienne.

The 41-year-old admitted she was so appalled after reading Rosie’s comments that she “immediately started praying,” explaining on the show:

“I’d like to be able to say that I didn’t, but I read [her comments]. I’ll be very honest. I read it and I immediately started praying. Because I’m like, how am I going to handle this in my old self would be another split screen moment, but now I really feel like by God’s grace I just started praying — and I pray now the Holy Spirit gives me the words to articulate this — but I think it can be addressed with both truth and grace.”

Invoking the power of the Holy Spirit — and the more relevant #MeToo movement — Hasselbeck illustrated just how inappropriate the comedian’s comments were by pointing out that, if a man had made them, “there would be an objectification of women in the workplace.”
She continued:

“So that is disturbing and it’s wrong. And whether you’re a man or whether you’re a woman, and you’re objectifying women in the workplace, it’s wrong.”

She ain’t wrong about that! But we should note, Rosie clarified in the book that her crush on Elisabeth wasn’t sexual, elaborating:

“[It’s] not that I wanted to kiss her. I wanted to support, raise, elevate her, like she was the freshman star shortstop and I was the captain of the team.”

Well, that’s harmless enough.
Rosie’s theory that Hasselbeck might be “at least a little bit gay” because she played softball in college, however, wasn’t.

You better believe Elisabeth addressed those comments in her Fox & Friends interview, blasting her former ABC colleague for making the “unfair stereotype” about female athletes. She said:

“I think her casting a stereotype on female athletes and what she said… that all female athletes are a little bit gay… I would say this directly to her, and I would say, ‘That’s an unfair stereotype and it seems selfish in a way and I think that it’s untrue.'”

The mother of three added that she did try to contact the SMILF actress personally, but had an old phone number. So, she sent Rosie a message on Fox News, offering the comedian her forgiveness and wishing her “the peace of God.”

She preached:

“I can handle that with the grace of God because I need grace and I need forgiveness. So Rosie, I think it was disturbing to read those things and it was offensive to me, but I forgive her. I totally forgive you, Rosie… I really hope that we can be at peace and that we can… both hold our beliefs in one hand and hold each other’s hand in the other and still have a relationship that’s at peace.”

Awww, she wants to hold Rosie’s hand. (But not in a lesbian way!)
Calling the comedienne one of her “friends,” she concluded:

“But, more than that, just like I would pray for my friends, I hope that she has the peace of God. Because… Rosie O’Donnell is still seen and known and loved by God, and I hope that she feels that and I hope that she can find, ultimately, the peace. Even more than I want to be at peace with her, I hope she finds that peace because God wants that for her too.”

Sounds like Elisabeth is quite riled up about this whole thing. We commend her for taking the high road when she easily could’ve been all:

Still, we hope the two can find a way to kiss and make up!
