What a heartbreaking time for Elizabeth Gilbert.
On Friday, Elizabeth made the sad announcement that she plans to divorce her husband Jose Nunes after ten years of marriage.

What’s especially sad about this situation is that Jose was the inspiration for the character Felipe in Eat, Pray, Love — the incredible man Elizabeth’s character meets in Bali after divorcing her first husband. The romantic scenario EXACTLY mirrored the author’s real life and many fans thought the blonde had stumbled upon a perfect fairytale.

Well, it sounds like the pair were really devoted to each other for many years — sometime things just don’t work out.
