Ellen DeGeneres returned to TV on Monday for the 17th season of her show, and got everyone caught up on her summer!
Most notably, the longtime host took a trip across the pond with her wife Portia de Rossi to meet Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, and baby Archie, and returned with nothing but good things to say.

The comedian describes the royal family as “so amazing,” “so down-to-earth,” and the “cutest couple,” but the “most important thing” about the trip was getting to hold and feed Archie:
“He weighs 15 pounds—which the exchange rate, I believe, is $17 here.”
Ellen continued, sharing with the audience:
“I just want to say: It was an honor for them to meet me.”
DeGeneres admitted she didn’t have a photo with the little one (below), but did sketch a silly photo of him for the audience:
“I didn’t think it was right to go, ‘Can I get a picture?””
After showing her drawing, the daytime TV spilled about the little one’s looks:
“He looks like Harry. He has a body, but I just did the face for y’all. He actually has a perfectly circular head. He looks just like Harry and he had more hair than I did at the time.”
We’ve only gotten a few glimpses at the four-month-old since his birth in May, so we’ll have to take her word for it that he looks like his daddy!
On a more serious note, the 61-year-old also spoke out against media attacks targeting the family, and hinted at a possible charitable collaboration in the future:
“I see them get attacked, and it’s not fair. They’re just two of the most down-to-earth compassionate people. They’re doing so much good for the world. Portia and I talked to them about all the conservation work they’re doing for wildlife, and they’re doing all this work in Botswana for elephants, and I love that. And they like what I’m doing for the gorillas in Rwanda. So, we’re going to all do something together.”
Previously, Ellen was among celebs and fans who came to the defense of the new parents on social media after controversy began to brew surrounding their private jet usage, writing on Twitter:
“Portia and I met Prince Harry and Meghan in England to talk about their work on wildlife conservation. They were the most down-to-earth, compassionate people. Imagine being attacked for everything you do, when all you’re trying to do is make the world better.”
