Don’t misquote the Mother of Dragons!
Earlier this week, it was reported that Emilia Clarke wasn’t the biggest fan of sex scenes, saying that they “should be more subtle,” and that she “couldn’t stand” scenes that were explicit for no reason!
Now, the Game Of Thrones star says she was quoted “entirely out of context,” and wants to set the record straight on how she really feels about getting naked on screen!

Taking control of the situation just like Khaleesi would, the 28-year-old clarified her opinion on the subject, posting on her Instagram:
“I was followed into a party by a journalist who asked me a question about female empowerment and then quoted me entirely out of context for an outlet I didn’t agree to speak with. So I feel now, with the beauty of Instagram I should clarify my statements, if for nothing else than for posterity. In drama, if a nude scene forwards a story or is shot in a way that adds insight into characters, I’m perfectly fine with it. Sometimes explicit scenes are required and make sense for the characters/story, as they do in Westeros. If it’s gratuitous for gratuitous sake, then I will discuss with a director on how to make it more subtle. In either case, like a good Mother of Dragons, I’m always in control.”
Spoken (well, written) like a true queen!
We’re glad Clarke took the opportunity to clear everything up.
Now, we can hope for more onscreen skin from Khaleesi — as long as the scene contains some serious plot points, of course!
