Emily Ratajkowski has got some explaining to do!
The model launched her new swimwear line Inamorata Swim earlier this month, but it turns out some of her designs are eerily similar to another designer’s, Lisa Marie Fernandez.

While Emily previously shared she found the inspiration by her line from flipping through vintage Sports Illustrated issues, Miz Fernandez sent the 26-year-old a cease-and-desist letter after discovering the similarities between two of their designs.
According to Business of Fashion, there is no copyright for physically functional products, in this case, swimsuits.
So instead Lisa invoked two European Union Community Design Registration certificates she registered in May 2015, as Emily’s line ships internationally. This would give Lisa the monopoly on supplying the designs until 2020. Then she can extend her registration for a maximum of 25 more years.
The designer stated:
“[Copying] is constant and we are going full force with it.”
Em’s team had until November 22 to respond, but there’s been no word on what has transpired since.
