Eminem’s Brother Reveals He's Feeling 'Hatred' After Mom’s Death

Eminem’s Brother Nate Feeling ‘Hatred And Mixed Emotions’ After Mom’s Death

Eminem’s brother isn’t handling their mom’s death too well…

News broke on Tuesday that Debbie Nelson passed away on Monday. TMZ reported she spent her final moments in St. Joseph, Missouri and passed as the result of complications from lung cancer.

The Lose Yourself rapper was infamously estranged from his mom for decades (to put it lightly). Since the news broke, Eminem has posted on Instagram about upcoming shows in Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He has not addressed his mother’s death in the slightest — just like he hasn’t spoken of her publicly in many years.

His half brother NathanNateMathers on the other hand is taking a different approach…

On Tuesday, Nate took to his Instagram Story to share a candid update on his mental state. He succinctly wrote:

“Hatred and mixed emotions today.”

Yeesh…

Debbie gave birth to Nate when Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, was 13 years old. Unfortunately, Nate was placed in foster care when he was 8, where he remained for nearly 10 years until the 8 Mile star was able to gain legal guardianship of him. In a February 2023 episode of Hailie Jade‘s podcast Just A Little Shady, Nate proudly called his big brother “the best role model I could have had.” A far cry from how he felt about their mother.

Our hearts are with the family today. Again, it can be even harder to lose a family member with whom you have a bad or complicated relationship. It sounds like it doesn’t get much worse than this.
