We figured it would only be a matter of time.
Eminem recently released an extremely violent new music video, for his track Space Bound, which depicts him fantasizing about murdering his girlfriend and then shooting himself in the head, and now, anti-violence groups have slammed the rapper for the content!
According to a spokesperson from the UK group Mothers Against Violence:
“People who do this are really quite evil. Children are influenced by the things they see. If we feed violence, it becomes strong. Like an addiction. It’s all about the money with these videos. Eminem isn’t thinking about the families affected. It’s selfish – it comes to a point when selfishness becomes evil.”
Wow! Harsh!
We can certainly understand the sentiment, and agree that caution should always be used when depicting this degree of violence in art, but we don’t think Eminem is EVIL for expressing himself through his music! Even if the self-expression is of a uncomfortable nature!
