A few months ago, we were floored when Eminem opened up and was so candid with the world about his addiction problems.
We’re glad that hasn’t changed, because the more he reveals, the better the chance that someone will become inspired by his struggle… and he might even help someone who needs it!
He just spoke up again about his addiction to sleeping pills, and said his life could’ve gone down ‘another path.’ At 41-years-old, we love seeing a much wiser version of himself, and we’re glad that he has now fully recovered after spending time in hospital in 2005 for his addiction.
Here’s what he said:
“I certainly could have taken another path. I know that there are so many addicts in this world and people who have problems like that that don’t make it. [Music] keeps pushing me forward… so I am thankful for that. I’ve never been an attention seeker. I don’t like to go in public and walk around and be like, ‘Here I am’.”
Instead of drinking to ‘get through’ performances, he says he’s now replaced that in favor of connecting with the crowd!
We’re just so glad that he’s still out there, and that his new album is doing so well. Things wouldn’t be the same in the game without him!
