J.K. Rowling may have ticked off a few Muggles when she admitted that she really wanted Harry Potter and Hermione to end up together!
While this news would totally make Ron throw up slugs, Emma Watson, who actually conducted the interview with J.K., came to her defense!
In an interview last night on the Oscars‘ red carpet, Emma said that, just like what might happen in an interview with Rita Skeeter, J.K.’s words were misinterpreted:
“It was a real shame, because the quote that she gave was completely taken out of context, and if you read the whole interview it was completely not how it was framed but it was actually kind of a joke.”
Splitting up our favorite magical couple? What a HIGHlarious joke! WHAT IS THIS? WEASLEYS’ WIZARD WHEEZES?!
SRSLY though, ever since we read that J.K. wanted Hermione to be a Potter, we’ve been living under the Cruciatus curse.
Perhaps this is just a case similar to that of Seamus Finnigan’s Wingardium Leviosa mishap – J.K. misspoke, or was misinterpreted, and it blew up in her face!
While we think the interview is pretty clear in its denunciation of the whole Hermione-Ron relationship, we’ll have give J.K. the benefit of the doubt.
Although we can imagine that Harry’s snake would be good for Hermione…he can talk to it!
