Why do they keep having so much legal trouble??
Despite a slight dip in quality and ratings for its sophomore season, Empire remains one of the most popular shows on television.
And while this means a lot of money for the people responsible for the hit series, it also means there are a lot of people out there who want their cut.

The Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson musical drama already faced a lawsuit from a woman who claimed the show stole her life story back in August; now FOX has another very similar case of copyright infringement on their hands.
According to a docs filed in federal court in Virginia, FOX, Lee Daniels, Danny Strong, and other producers are being sued for an astounding $1.5 BILLION for stealing the idea of Lucious Lyon!

Apparently, an author named Timothy J. Levi wrote a book entitled Unity Incorporated: The Mastermind in 2007 and believes the show directly took inspiration for Lucious after reading about his main character.
Tim wants an injunction put on the show and at least the $1.5B in damages… but we have a feeling Empire won’t be going anywhere any time soon.
Do U think Danny and Lee will be forced to cancel their own show??
