Eric Clapton Auctioning Off Guitars For Charity

The legendary guitarist Eric Clapton will be auctioning off more than 70 guitars from his own personal collection to raise money for his rehab clinic.

He founded Clapton’s Crossroads Centre in Antigua in 1998 to help treat people with drug and alcohol addictions.

A highlight of the auction is a guitar he used at the Cream reunion shows in 2005. The custom built black Fender “Eric Clapton Signature” Stratocaster is estimated at $20-30,000.

The auction will take place in New York on March 11, 2011.
