Facebook may seem like a harmless networking tool, but it can also be horribly abused!
Not even a week after hearing the news of one man trapping girls into a prostitution ring with the promise of modeling careers, we’ve now learned that a Minneapolis man named Eric Rutherford (33) has been accused of sexually assaulting a model that he found on Facebook in late February. Police say that Eric contacted the woman, saying that if she posed for photos at his house she could be a model, even though Eric is reportedly not a photographer.
Sounds pretty strange, right? And story just gets weirder!
The woman was driven to Eric├óΓé¼Γäós house by his brother at 9:30 p.m., where he offered her some “pink or orange” water. She accepted, then claims she began to feel dizzy after drinking it. The dizziness alarmed her, so she texted her dad and went to the bathroom to change. The woman says that├óΓé¼Γäós when Eric sexually assaulted her while she was in her underwear.
But Eric tells an entirely different story; he claims the model tried to hug him which made him uncomfortable:
“The moment she did that, we jumped in the car and I took her, she stayed on the phone with her father the entire ride home.”
And interestingly enough, sounds like Eric was pretty familiar with her father! He also explained:
“I spent hours with her mom and dad, they were supposed to come and they opted out of coming. I have absolutely never done anything against females. I think honestly it’s about money she’s not going to get a cent because I never touched her.”
However, the victim’s father says Eric apologized for touching his daughter, even though Eric claims he was apologize for pushing her off of him.
And here’s where the story really gets twisted: Eric actually got a misdemeanor a few years for groping a woman, making his previous statement false. Even more unsettling is that he was released on bail after being accused of this latest crime, and has been missing ever since.
Running away certainly doesn’t seem like something an innocent person would do, and it’s disconcerting to think that he could be anywhere!
Hopefully he’ll be found soon!!
