Erika Kirk is once again taking over for her deceased husband Charlie — and it’s looking all kinds of “suspicious” to the public!
As Perezcious readers know, after Charlie’s death in September, his wife quickly took charge of his org Turning Point USA. She’s been stirring up backlash ever since, particularly for her tone-deaf way of handling the business despite the horrific circumstances surrounding her promotion.
She’s yet again stepping into shoes her hubby once filled… and this time Donald Trump‘s the one putting her up for the new — seemingly totally out of her element — role!
Multiple outlets noticed that as of Tuesday, Mz. Kirk was selected for a prominent advisory role tied to the US Air Force Academy. Specifically, she’s been named one of the academy’s Board of Visitors, a 16-person oversight panel at the Colorado Springs military institution.

The whole point of the group is to review issues related to “the morale, discipline, curriculum, instruction, physical equipment, fiscal affairs, academic methods, and other matters” associated with the Academy, as per the website. Charlie previously served on the board, joining a year prior to his death. He’d also been selected by Trump.
The Air Force Academy hasn’t made an official announcement about this change, but she already appears on a list of the current members of the board appointed by the President (along with four others and one vacant spot). See HERE.
Calling out this “suspicious” move, critics wrote on X (Twitter):
“WHY? This seems highly suspicious. Of all the people with military backgrounds, qualified for that position, why this person?”
“What makes her qualified?”
“Reminder, her husband was a podcaster with no military service.”
“For the love of God, this woman is NOT Charlie!!!”
“So the qualification for overseeing the Air Force Academy is… being married to the guy who was supposed to do it?!?”
“Hiring unqualified cronies is objectively way worse than the DEI you all complained about so much.”
Amid backlash, the White House actually defended the choice in a statement by spokesperson Olivia Wales to The Guardian. Calling Erika the “perfect choice” for the position, she said:
“Charlie Kirk served proudly on the board, inspiring not only the next generation of servicemembers, but millions around the world with his bold Christian faith, defense of the truth, and deep love of country.”
The statement added:
“Erika Kirk will continue his legacy, and will be a fearless advocate for the most elite airpower force in the history of the world whose warriors keep our nation safe, strong, and free.”
Hmm.
