Erin Andrews Left With 'A Broken Heart' As Another Surrogate Suffers A Miscarriage

Erin Andrews Left With ‘A Broken Heart’ While Announcing Her Surrogate Suffered A Miscarriage

This is so sad. Erin Andrews and her husband Jarret Stoll have lost their pregnancy.

On Thursday’s episode of her podcast Calm Down with Erin and Charissa, the sportscaster revealed her surrogate suffered a miscarriage. They had not even announced the pregnancy publicly yet, but it was going well. So well she’d “even told” her producer Ryan Musick and other podcast co-workers about the pregnancy “a couple weeks ago” because she and Jarret thought it was “such good news.” The loss comes as an especially big shock because it was so unexpected. She expressed:

“I have dealt with this before, but things were going really, really well. Her little heartbeat and her numbers were really good.”

Oh, no. Heartbreaking. It was a baby girl…

Obviously the news was crushing for Erin. The reporter acknowledged she’s “really good at suppressing [her] feelings — and work helps with that,” but said she was “tearing up” the whole episode and struggling to “stay focused” amid the loss.

Taking some inspiration from Taylor Swift, she referenced the song I Can Do It With A Broken Heart, continuing:

“I’m really good at doing this s**t with a broken heart. I kinda made a promise to myself that when I was really open with how s**tty infertility has been and our journey with two surrogates, because we did lose…we had loss with our first surrogate and then luckily with our second one, we had Mack, that I was just going to be honest with people.”

She added:

“This really, really sucks but so many people are dealing with it so if you feel alone and you feel like a failure, I do too. But you’re not the only one. […] I just wanted to be open with people and be like, ‘This sucks.’ And today, this really does. “

Being so open and honest will probably help her feel less alone in this, too!

As mentioned, this is not the couple’s first experience with a pregnancy loss. The 47-year-old has been open about her struggles to conceive, and after a grueling journey of IVF, they had a different surrogate who suffered a miscarriage several years ago. To go through this more than once… How awful. Thankfully, they were able to welcome their son Mack via surrogate in June 2023.

We’re sending them so much love as they grieve this loss!
