Donald Trump is in! So Eva Longoria is OUT!
The Desperate Housewives star is NOT okay with the 2024 presidential election results — so she’s using her wealth to escape the country! In a new interview with Marie Claire, the 49-year-old opened up about her visceral disapproval of the president elect… So much so that she’s bidding farewell to ol’ red, white, and blue to split her time between Spain and Mexico with her husband José Bastón and their 6-year-old son Santiago.
She’s all too self-aware of how she’s one of very few “privileged” folks who have that option. She told the outlet:
“I’m privileged. I get to escape and go somewhere. Most Americans aren’t so lucky. They’re going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and sadness is for them.”
Harsh… But not far off! The activist, who dedicated a LOT of her summer to campaigning for Kamala Harris, added:
“If he keeps his promises, it’s going to be a scary place.”
Seriously! With the way things are shaping up, she ain’t kiddin’! An accused sex pest as AG, an evangelical as ambassador to Israel, an extremist Fox News host as SecDef, an alleged Russian asset as Director of National Intelligence? Every new cabinet pick sounds like a bad SNL sketch come to life. Not to mention the fact right-wing pundits dropped the mask and embraced Project 2025 again the moment the election was over. So get ready to say goodbye to IVF, women’s healthcare, the Department of Education, porn, and many other freedoms you’ve taken for granted, we guess? Not to mention Trump’s promise to raise the prices on almost EVERYTHING with arbitrary across-the-board tariffs. Ironically that’s not even something that would affect the incredibly rich Eva.
She’s very fortunate she’s able to up and leave. Many underprivileged Americans will be forced to stay here and be subjected to what’s coming. But the John Wick producer still hopes for a better future:
“I would like to think our fight continues.”
We guess her portion of the fight will just be done from abroad… And she WON’T be missing LA:
“I had my whole adult life here. But even before [the pandemic], it was changing. The vibe was different. And then Covid happened, and it pushed it over the edge. Whether it’s the homelessness or the taxes, not that I want to s**t on California — it just feels like this chapter in my life is done now.”
Valid! Hey, she’s got the funds. Why not leave?
Elsewhere, Eva opened up about the existential crisis she experienced after Trump was elected for the first time in 2016:
“I’ve never been depressed in my life. It was like, ‘Does my vote really matter? Am I really making a difference?’ I was so untethered to the core of what I believe because I truly believed in my soul that the best person wins. And then that happened, and I was like, ‘Oh, wait. The best person doesn’t win.’”
And now that he’s been elected AGAIN eight years later, she’s kinda lost faith in our system:
“The shocking part is not that he won. It’s that a convicted criminal who spews so much hate could hold the highest office.”
