We told you exclusively a couple of days ago that Jennifer Lopez‘s new CD, Brave, was expected to debut low its first week out.
That’s an understatement!
The record BOMBED. And it hurt.
Just how badly did Brave do?
J. Lo’s new album failed to crack the Top Ten in the U.S.! Yup, it came in at #12, selling just 53,000 albums.
All of Jennifer’s six previous studio albums – even her recent Spanish one – managed to debut in the Top 10.
Her last English-language CD, Rebirth, debuted in 2005 at #2, selling 261,000 copies. That’s five times more than her new CD sold this past week!
Awwww. Sux for Jenny.
Who beat her???
Josh Groban did! Yup, the pretty-voiced singer’s new album, Noel, debuted at #10, selling 64,000 copies.
Not only did Josh Groban beat J. Lo, but he beat her with a Christmas album! In October!
Country singer Sara Evans also beat Lopez with her Greatest Hits, which came in at #8 with 66,000.
LeAnn Rimes‘ Family debuted startlingly well this week, selling 74,000 copies, good enough for a #4 position.
And, to our surprise and disgust, Kid Rock‘s new album, Rock ‘N’ Roll Jesus, debuted at #1 this week, selling 172,000 copies.
Last week’s #1, Bruce Springsteen‘s Magic, slips to #2 this week, selling 133,000 (down 60%).├é┬á├é┬áAnd Rascal Flatts‘ Still Feels Good is #3 this week with 96,000.
Poor J. Lo.
At least she has a new baby on the way (which she still hasn’t announced)!
