Q&A with Perezitos‘s nutrition expert Margaux!!
Perezcious mommy, Molly, asks our our wellness expert about an essential food! She asks:
“My 2-year-old doesn’t like a citrusy fruit. (must be the texture or something?) How can I make sure he gets enough vitamin C? How important is vitamin C for a child’s diet?”
Hmm… good question!
Margaux’s Answer is:
“Vitamin C is important to include in your child’s diet! It helps to protect cells from free-radical damage, boosts immunity and improves iron absorption. Oranges aren’t the only food source of vitamin C!
Try including tasty foods like strawberries, grapefruit, papaya, kiwifruit, and raspberries in your child’s daily diet. You can also serve vegetables that are rich in this vitamin during meal time. My favorite vitamin C-rich veggies include broccoli, Swiss chard, collard greens, asparagus, and green beans.”
Broccoli has vitamin C? Inneresting!
