A fan favorite from Extreme Makeover: Home Edition has sadly been killed.
Eduardo Xol, the designer and landscaper from the renovation show, called police on the morning of September 10 saying he needed help, according to reports. The Palm Springs Police Department told People that their officers responded and found him in an apartment suffering from several stab wounds. Sadly, ten days later on September 20, he would succumb to his injuries. He was 58 years old.

Law enforcement stated Eduardo wasn’t the only one immediately connected to the scene, though. Richard Joseph Gonzales had called police on the morning of the stabbing, as well, and told them he’d been assaulted the previous night. After following up with him, officers were able to determine his connection to the crime.
Originally, he was arrested on attempted murder charges, but they got upped to full murder charges after an approval from the DA. But who was this man to Eduardo? The only information police relayed is that they were “associates” and that the accused stabber is being held in Riverside County Jail without bail.
In a statement to the outlet following Eduardo’s passing, his family expressed their heartbreak:
“We are heartbroken at the tragic loss of our beloved Eduardo Xol. As his family, we know that his kindness has touched the lives of so many.”
They also asked for donations to be made to the Lupus Foundation of America in his name in lieu of flowers:
“We ask for that kindness returned now allowing our privacy to be respected as we process our grief. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made in Eduardo’s name to the Lupus Foundation of America as he spent so much of his life in the service of others.”
So sad. Rest in peace Eduardo.
