On Monday, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg responded to everyone freaking out about the social networking site’s its effed-up new policy – “what you upload onto Facebook belongs to Facebook.”
Zuckerberg responded in a really shitty, weak way. You can read his entire statement here.
Why was it shitty?
It’s crap because he doesn’t explain why they have to ‘own’ and keep YOUR personal photos even after you’ve shut down your profile.
Zuckerberg says you can ‘trust’ him. Don’t worry, you supposedly have his ‘word’ that they wouldn’t do anything you wouldn’t want them to do:
In reality, we wouldn’t share your information in a way you wouldn’t want. The trust you place in us as a safe place to share information is the most important part of what makes Facebook work. Our goal is to build great products and to communicate clearly to help people share more information in this trusted environment.
When push comes to shove, or if there’s money to be made, do you really think a corporation would have your best interest at heart?
MySpace is so much more respectful of y’all. Check out this MySpace vs. Facebook terms of service analysis.
At least MySpace won’t try and take ownership of YOUR PERSONAL stuff!
