We guess movie goers are FINALLY hungover when it comes to The Hangover franchise!
While the third and final installment of the comedic trilogy made a solid $42.4 million in its opening weekend, it was NO MATCH for the latest Fast & Furious sequel, Fast & Furious 6, which DOMINATED with an insane $98.5 million!
And that’s not all it’s expected to make, given that Memorial Day is tomorrow!
In fact, if it does as well as it’s estimated to do – around $122 million – then it will become the FOURTH-HIGHEST opening for the holiday EVER!
Meanwhile, Warner Bros. president of distribution Dan Fellman, responsible for The Hangover Part III, admits:
“It was a little surprising that we didn’t reach the $80 million mark, but I can’t look at a $63 million or $64 million opening and say it wasn’t solid. Obviously, the first choice was Fast 6, but hopefully people will get a dose of that film and then come back to us.”
Guess we’ll have to see and find out!
