Yay!
We’ve been following her story closely for the past few weeks — from the beginning when we heard she had to go through the amputations. Now through her tough recovery, we’re here at the point where she’s actually able to speak again!
On Sunday, she said this:
“Hello. Whoa. Wow, my mind is blown.”
She said this to her mom and sister, and unfortunately her dad was at church and unable to hear the very first words… but he did speak to her later.
He asked her how it felt to speak, and she said:
“It feels weird being able to talk.”
Just last week Aimee was able to breathe, and then sit up, on her own. So to be able to talk just a few days later is such a HUGE step!
She has a long road ahead of her, but we get the feeling she’ll be able to handle it!
