Florida Teenager Donates 1300 Shoes To Impoverished Children
Inspiration comes in many shapes and sizes, and today that shape is a 14-year-old kid from Florida.
Jacob Rice started on a mission four years ago (when he was 10) to make a difference his home city of Tampa, but he wasn├óΓé¼Γäót sure where to start. When he called the local Corporation to Develop Communities, they said Tampa kids needed shoes, so that became Rice├óΓé¼Γäós goal — to get Tampa kids shoes.
Four years and a lot of hard work later, his nonprofit Shoe Giver of Tampa has given donated shoes to more than 1,300 children locally and abroad.
When asked how much time it takes him to do all of this charity work, Rice replied plainly.
“I don’t have a set amount of time I spend on my project. I do what it takes to provide outstanding service to children who need shoes.”
So wonderful! This just proves that it doesn’t matter how old or young you are, making a difference is about putting your heart into something and not your pocketbook!
