It’s best to pay full price for some things in life, and this is def one of those things!
The FDA has issued a consumer alert, warning pet owners about purchasing discounted pet drugs online.
Here are some of the main points presented by the FDA:
-Legit companies require a veterinarian prescription note for drugs
-Online companies will sometimes sell expired, unapproved, and counterfeit products
-Frequent use of nonsteroidal anti-flammatory drugs (pain relievers) can cause internal bleeding problems for pets
-Heartworm drugs given to dogs that are infected with parasites can lead to serious complications
-If you are going to buy pet drugs online, only do so at sites that are Vet-VIPPS accredited pharmacy sites
As a general rule, do the right thing and make sure to take your pet to the veterinarian.
Ordering pet drugs online is just not worth the risk!
