Former NFL Star Chris Kluwe Arrested For Protesting MAGA Library Plaque!

Former NFL star Chris Kluwe was not afraid to fight back against a recent city council decision to have a MAGA plaque!

During a Huntington Beach City Council meeting Tuesday, the former Minnesota Vikings punter took to the podium to push back against a plaque design for the Central Library’s 50th anniversary. Why? The council approved that the plaque would feature an acrostic of the words “Magical, Alluring, Galvanizing, Adventurous” — or MAGA, which we all know refers to Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan. WTF.

According to Chris, he and other residents of Huntington Beach are all for having a plaque to honor the library, but not one with a symbol of hate on it. He said:

“Unfortunately, it’s clear that this council does not listen, so instead I’m going to take my time to say what MAGA has stood for these past three weeks. MAGA stands for trying to erase trans people from existence. MAGA stands for resegregation and racism. MAGA stands for censorship and book bans. MAGA stands for firing air traffic controllers while planes are crashing. MAGA stands for firing the people overseeing our nuclear arsenal. MAGA stands for firing military veterans and those serving them at the VA, including canceling research of veterans’ suicide.”

While the crowd applauded, the athlete pointed out that MAGA “is a profoundly corrupt, unmistakably anti-democracy, and most importantly, MAGA is explicitly a Nazi movement” before adding:

“We may have replaced a swastika with a red hat, but that is what it is.”

Chris then expressed that he would “engage in the time-honored American tradition of peaceful civil disobedience” and approached the council with his arms behind his back. Four police officers immediately arrested him, taking him out of the chambers. Take a look at the moment (below):
