Since calling out his ex-fiancée and baby momma Ciara on Twitter amid their custody battle over their son, Future is finally getting real about the R&B singer.
Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine for his feature in the July issue, the Low Life rapper dished on what actually led their split back in 2014.

Only three months after the arrival of their son, Future Zahir, he shared:
“I was scared as sh*t. I was one step away from being married, and I feel like I failed publicly in relationships. Then you want to go back to doing music, to what you know. And if the people didn’t accept you again, the one thing you feel like you can fall back on, it walked away from you. You feel like it’s over.”
And the response to his album, Honest, didn’t help his situation either.
Producer Mike Will Made-It even chimed in:
“He was with an R&B chick, you know what I’m saying? Ciara, she didn’t even really like when people cursed.”
One of Future’s friends also spilled the Ride songstress wasn’t so well-liked in their group, adding:
“She was bougie as hell.”
Of course, Future and Cici’s highly publicized split brought even more drama to their lives, with the now-engaged starlet suing him only for him to follow up with a countersuit of his own.
The 32-year-old says of the former flames’ legal drama:
“I can’t deal with it. I can’t even think about it. I never imagined my life would be like that: ‘I’m going to sue you and take away from you.’ I don’t know how to deal with something like that. All I know is record, record, record, record.”
It was less than two weeks ago that the Grammys rapper dropped his countersuit against his ex in order to work towards a peaceful relationship with her.
If that’s not enough, he shared how he only wants the best for his son’s momma! Saying he would never wish her “failure,” he confessed:
“Her being successful, her being happy, helps me. I’m attached to you. If you’re happy, I’m happy. You’re connected for life. I don’t want you to go through this sh*t and for it to come back on my son, my kid. I want you to be in the best situation.”
That’s not to say he’s looking forward to being “connected” to Ciara’s fianc├â┬⌐ Russell Wilson!
Explaining his feelings towards the NFL star, he admitted:
“It’s something that’ll take more time for me. It ain’t even about [him] playing daddy. I don’t even want to think about it. That’s my son forever. My son is going to be able to read this. He’s going to be able to look at those pictures. He’s going to be able to have a judgment for himself, and have a conversation with me man-to-man. That’s my blood. He is me. I am him. We is one.”
Well, there you have it!
Hopefully they can work everything out, especially as his ex is moving on and is set to walk down the aisle with him.
