Gabrielle Giffords Has An Emotional Reunion With The Gay Intern Who Saved Her Life

So lovely! Our eyes are welling up!
Over the weekend, U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords released an inspiring video in which she announced that she’ll be retiring from Congress to focus on her recovery.
Then yesterday, Gabby met with Daniel Hernandez, the gay intern who saved her life, for the first time since she was shot in the head last year.
She also met with other survivors of the January 2011 Tuscon, Arizona shooting during a “Congress on Your Corner” event.
We’re sure it was an intense, emotional experience for her to reunite with the man who saved her life…and we’re sure it was also a fulfilling one.
We continue to wish Gabby the best of luck with her recovery!
