This is horrendous! We’re so disappointed in this branch of the police department.
A California cop is filing a suit against his precinct after he was told he could not march in uniform Sunday in the West Hollywood Gay Pride Parade because it would bring “discredit” to his department. The officer made a formal request in writing to proudly attend the event with other gay law enforcement officers, but was promptly informed by the department that they would not allow it.
Now, the proud officer has hired Gloria Allred to represent him in an employment discrimination complaint and he is bringing forward his department’s response, which they put IN WRITING, in a press conference this afternoon.
Gee, thanks for making their case really easy! Serves you right for being so intolerant and ignorant of a fine member of your team. Shame!
