In some of this year’s flicks, animals were the biggest stars and Genesis Awards are a place where all the furry, feathery, and scaly celebs can get their recognition!

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS)’s 26th annual Genesis Awards brought together two and four footed celebrities to recognize individuals and media outlets that raise public awareness of animal welfare issues.
The four legged celebrities were well represented by Uggie, the Jack Russell terrier from the academy award winning movie The Artist. Uggie strutted his stuff on the red carpet and “mouthed off” the award for best feature film (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) to Genesis Awards’ host, Carrie Ann Inaba (Dancing with the Stars).
Grammy award winner Colbie Caillat walks the walk in vegan shoes then belts out “Brighter Than the Sun”.
Gordon Ramsay: Shark Bait exposes hellish reality of shark slaughter and wins best TV Documentary.
Hot in Cleveland’s Wendy Malick draws attention to HSUS cause to reduce US government’s capture and slaughter of wild horses.
NBC Reporter Jill Rappaport showcases relationships between homeless men and dogs to win Morning Show award.
Orangutan Foundation International (OFI)’s work to stop Indonesian deforesting and orangutan slaughter recognized in award winning Born to Be Wild 3D.
KTLA Reporter and Producer Lu Parker Wins Local News Feature award.
