At 68 years-old, George Lucas is tired.
Tired of Hollywood politics, tired of hearing about Shia LaBeouf and Jar Jar Binks, tired of defending the indefensible Harrison Ford flying fridge scene.
Georgie enjoyed a historically prosperous run at the table but, once he finishes his current projects, he’s cashing in his chips and calling it a night.
The billionaire movie-maker told Empire:
“I’m moving away from the company, I’m moving away from all my businesses, I’m finishing all my obligations and I’m going to retire to my garage with my saw and hammer and build hobby movies.├óΓé¼┬¥
So what’s next for the man who created American Graffiti, Indiana Jones, and Star Wars??
A life of simple pleasures. And one BEYOND reproach!
He continued:
├óΓé¼┼ôI’ve always wanted to make movies that were more experimental in nature, and not have to worry about them showing in movie theatres.”
Kudos on a monumentally successful career, sir.
And if U ever decide to make a comeback, might we suggest one more Ewok movie?
