Wow! This is horrible!
As we told you earlier, George Zimmerman was arrested Monday when police responded to a domestic violence call at his home. Now we have a cleared picture of what may have transpired!
According to investigators, he may have pointed a shotgun at his girlfriend Samantha Scheibe.
The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office arrested George at the scene and took him to booking. They charged him with a felony count of aggravated assault as well as a misdemeanor counts of battery-domestic violence and criminal mischief.
Chief Deputy Dennis Lemma explained situation at news conference this afternoon.
He revealed:
“When we arrived, the victim indicated that she and George Zimmerman were having a verbal dispute and at that time she alleged that he had broken a table and pointed a long-barrel shotgun at her.”
She then apparently managed to get out of the house and call 911 on her cell. George allegedly then barricaded himself inside the house with furniture until law enforcement arrived.
Police say George was no longer armed by the time they got there.
This, of course, isn’t the first time the 30-year-old Florida resident has found himself smack-dab in the middle of a sticky legal situation for brandishing a weapon. Earlier this summer George was acquitted of murdering Trayvon Martin.
Earlier reports suggested Samantha was pregnant during this whole ordeal, but police dispelled those rumors.
This is just all so sad. Our heart goes out to the victim of his alleged crimes.
