Now this is watching the FIFA World Cup in style!!
Union Berlin‘s stadium in Germany is awfully packed these days despite the fact that no soccer games are being played there.
Actually the stadium is filled with fans who are watching all of the matches on a giant screen!
But they aren’t in any of the stadium’s uncomfortable seats! Rather the Berlin fans were invited to bring their own sofas to the stadium, and many have taken up that offer!
In fact over 750 sofas were brought to the stadium to watch the very first match this past Thursday, and it’s estimated that 3,000 folks were plopped down on those comfortable cushions! Not only that – but another 9,000 folks were there to watch the game with them!
Talk about a party!
A Christian Machowski shared an ah-mazing shot of ALL of the couches. Here’s what he tweeted:
Great public viewing idea at Union Berlin's stadium, where 750 sofas have been lined up to watch #WorldCup matches. pic.twitter.com/jWEWiSUMle

And if you were wondering what happens when it rains – well, Christian Machowski answered that as well! He wrote:

Lolz!
Hopefully it doesn’t rain, and we bet the organizers of this couch movement are also hoping Germany doesn’t lose!
Angry soccer fans plus 750 couches doesn’t sound like a safe environment at all!!!
