The Loss Of A Famous Furry Friend

Canine actress, Gidget Gormley, died March 2, 2011 in the
Phoenicia, NY home. She is survived by her person, Mary and sister
Trew.
Born November 24, 1994, Gidget showed an early aptitude for performance and had a long career in film, commercials and television. Although Gidget was most famous for her role as Samantha’s frisky dog in the Sex and the City movies, she also appeared with Chloe Sevigny in The Last Days of Disco and was the hero dog in the short film Go Jimmy, Go.
On television, Gidget played Patti LaBelle‘s dog on The Cosby Show, guest starred in Mad About You and together with Robert Smigel and his “Triumph, the Insult Comic Dog”,had a re-occuring role on Late Night with Conan O’Brien.
A frequent presence at all community events and the dedicated companion to Mary and her family, she will be truly missed by all not just in the entertainment world, but in her hometown of Phoenicia as well.
