Ginormous basketball star Yao Ming is also big-hearted.
The Houston Rockets center created a foundation with a $2 million donation to rebuild schools devastated by last month’s earthquake in his native China, according to reports.
Yao told the press that the Yao Ming foundation will help raise funds to build earthquake-resistant schools in China.
“As everyone knows about the recent tragedy in China, the earthquake tragedy was the worst in history,” Yao said. “For this reason, I am working to give back funds.”
Since rebuilding will take many years, Yao also said he plans to make further donations and raise public awareness about the earthquake victims.
