We knew Kelly Rutherford had hit hard times with her divorce and child custody sitch, but we were so hoping it wouldn’t get to this.
Unfortunately, despite her Gossip Girl gig, the actress has had to file for bankruptcy!
It’s reported she has already spent $1.5 million on legal matters with her ex-husband, Daniel Giersch. And while she’s asking a judge to make him pay her costs, she’s filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in the meantime.
She now only has assets adding up to $23,937 while her debt is around $2,021,832.
And we’re not mathematicians, but those numbers aren’t good!
Her children have primarily been living in Monaco with their father, which has also been a financial stress on Kelly.
We just hope these two parents can work things out to make things best for the children involved.
