Thank gawd it was nothing life-threating!
Green Day‘s Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool scared us half to death yesterday when they posted a video explaining that frontman Billie Joe Armstrong couldn’t play a gig in Italy for “medical reasons.”
They were so vague about his illness — we worried it was something really bad!
However, we are pleased to announce that Billie appears to be doing alright, just something with his throat or vocal chords.
The sick singer was spotted leaving LAX looking healthy, but when questioned about his hospitalization he mouthed to reporters “My voice is gone.” Yikes!
Hopefully there isn’t any long-term damage done.
The singer needs his voice to do his job as a mentor on The Voice next season — not to mention his whole career with the punk band.
We wish Billie a safe and speedy recovery!
