Gunnar Hansen, best known for portraying Leatherface, the classic and terrifying horror villain in the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre film, died on Saturday evening at his home in Maine.
He was 68 years old.

Hansen, who had a long career in film and television in various on-camera and production roles, was always infamous for how he portrayed the scary, gruesome Leatherface in a movie that wound up being remade six times since its original run in 1974.
Grief poured in from all around after news of Hansen’s death spread:
