Jay Z isn’t the only celeb making expensive designer duds for the holidays!
On the heels of her collaboration with Stella McCartney, Gwyneth Paltrow has announced she’s teaming up with Michael Kors to create a collection for Goop.
The limited-edition pieces will include ready-to-wear items and accessories made specifically for the lifestyle site, as well as reworked Kors pieces Gwynnie picked out from the designer’s past collection.
As for how the collaboration came about, Michael said they’ve been talking about it forever:
“I have always been intrigued by the idea of someone who can juggle all the balls in the air and do it with great style, make it look easy, be smart and have a sense of humor. We always said, ‘Wouldn├óΓé¼Γäót it be great if some time, we could do something together, in whatever way.’ We started talking about the idea that when you buy something, you often don├óΓé¼Γäót know that it├óΓé¼Γäós going to turn out to be your favorite piece. Inevitably designers don├óΓé¼Γäót make it again and, she said, ‘It could drive you crazy.'”
The Oscar winner added:
“Michael├óΓé¼Γäós clothes are gorgeous, staple, American classics that never go out of style. I thought it would be wonderful to reinvent some of my favorite vintage Michael Kors looks that I have kept for years, that I wear over and over.”
We├óΓé¼Γäóre guessing the idea of keeping an item forever helps justify the high prices — this line in particular ranges from a pendant on a leather cord for $125 to a cashmere cape for $2,5000.
Who knows, if you’ve got the spare cash lying around a cape could be a great investment!
